Q: I downloaded DogProxy installer, but it will not run. A: Sometimes downloads break down. Try downloading DogProxy with a download manager, such as GetRight. Q: I can't see any characters in the Connect to Furcadia character list? A: Your characters' Furcadia INI files are probably saved somewhere else than in the Furcadia folder DogProxy uses. Open Configuration, select INI File Folders and add all the folders you want to scan for INI files to the list. Q: I created a new character, but now it doesn't show up in the Connect to Furcadia character list? A: You probably saved your character's Furcadia INI file into a folder which DogProxy does not scan for INI files. Open Configuration, select INI File Folders and add all the folders you want to scan for INI files to the list. Q: I closed the DogProxy Control Window with all the buttons for logging in, showing the online list, configuration and so on. How do I get it back? A: When you run DogProxy, a small icon of a dog's head will appear on the "system tray", an area at the bottom right corner of your screen. Doubleclick that dog icon to restore the DogProxy button window. If you are using WindowsXP, you may have to click the "(<)" button next to the system tray before you can see the dog icon. Q: DogProxy adds errors from DogProxy Online Check to my Online List, saying 'When trying to list players online, Furcadia returned the following message: "]#xxxx 0 Goodbye." -- Please check your settings.' A: Open DogProxy Configuration and select "Online Check". Click "DogProxy default" button, which will reset the username and password used for online checks to DogProxy default. Click "Ok" to save your settings. If the problems continue, wait a while. Q: I can't log in to Furcadia, because DogProxy says "Error while trying to launch Furcadia client" A: Make sure that DogProxy knows where Furcadia is installed. Open Configuration and select "Furcadia". Make sure the "Preferred Furcadia Folder" contains Furcadia. Q: How do I open a Whisper Window with someone who hasn't whispered to me yet? A: Click "Online List" on the Control Window to bring up the Online List Window. On that list, click "Add" button, enter the player's name and click "Add". Now you can double click the player's name on the Online List to open a Whisper Window. Q: I used to see a Connection Window when I connected to Furcadia, but now I don't. How do I get this window back? A: The Connection Window is probably automatically minimized. After you have connected your character to Furcadia, right click the DogProxy icon in the System Tray with your mouse and click your character from the "Connected Alts" menu to bring up the Connection Window again. Q: How come Online List sometimes shows players online when they really are offline and vice versa? A: It takes up to three minutes for DogProxy to notice that a player has logged in or left Furcadia -- If the player has just logged in or out, DogProxy may not be up-to-date of their online status. Q: When I try to log in, all I see is the Furcadia welcome screen saying something about null.exe A: For some reason, DogProxy could not establish connection to Furcadia server. Check your settings and wait a while -- often these problems are caused by something else than DogProxy. Q: How do I set myself AFK from Furcadia window? A: Type &AFK and press <enter> Q: My online list is filled with weird numbers or the changes I've made do not stay when I run DogProxy again A: Something has most likely corrupted the configuration file. The easiest way around this is to remove "dp2.cfg" -file from the DogProxy folder. Please note! This will lose all data you have entered to DogProxy - you will have to reconfigure DogProxy and add all the names to the Online Check list again. Q: I keep disconnecting with message "Someone else has logged in to this character" A: You have most likely set the Online Check feature to use the same username than what you are using to connect to Furcadia. This should not be. Change the username used for Online Check: Open Configuration, select "Online Check" and click "DogProxy default" button, which will reset the username and password used for online checks to DogProxy default. Click "Ok" to save your settings. Q: I can't run DogProxy 2.x twice. So how can I log in more than one alt? A: Just click "Login" button again or right click DogProxy icon in the system tray and select "Connect to Furcadia" - the single instance of the program is capable of connecting more than one alts at the same time.
